Park Yourself in Jordan for Little More Than a London Space

A new beachside development in Jordan is looking to attract British overseas property investors at not much more than the cost of a London parking space.

At first glance, £75,000 for a property in London may seem modest, until you realise this isn’t for a home, but instead a parking space. As London property prices continue to soar, there is still hope for Londoners looking to make the most of their hard-earned cash as properties in Jordan’s, Ayla start at just £20,000 more than a London parking space.

Ayla, the new destination in Jordan, which acts as a beachside escape from the capital city of Amman are hoping to attract UK homeowners searching for a second property.

Those looking to purchase a Jordan holiday home, will be met with the prospect of living near the ancient crimson city of Petra and rolling desert dunes of Wadi Rum, just a day trip away.

The contemporary builds, set among a serene backdrop of scaling mountains, greets visitors with striking hue tones of green and blue as they contrast the desert wilderness. Now offering marine life following migration to the area, Ayla also holds the third most eco-friendly golf course in the world, which includes genetically modified grass from Dubai that gets greener in the heat.

Almost half the price of what you would expect to pay for properties in Europe, the one-bedroom apartments at Ayla’s Golf Residences start from just £95,000 and three bed homes with flexible layouts cost up to £475,000.

The development which is due for completion in 10 years, will hold more than 4,141 homes and 1,944 hotel rooms at Ayla. Owners will also have the luxury of experiencing two beach clubs, including one designed by the renowned architect Jean-Claude Lesuisse, who is known to take inspiration from Gaudi, a marina with 180 berths and the Marina Village, which is a small neighbourhood with supermarkets and shops.

The new Jordan destination has introduced an additional 17km of waterfront, 24km of roads and walkways, and 185 acres of beautiful man-made lagoons which took three days to flood with water from the Red Sea.

The first phase of nearly 300 private gated residences has been completed, which included the luxury Island Apartments, ranging from £315,000 for a one-bedroom flat to £605,000 for a three-bed. Families looking to spend more time can enjoy Ayla knowing the apartments are built with an international school only a 10-minute drive away.

To reach Aqaba, there is a 50-minute flight from Amman, however British overseas property investors looking to purchase a second home will find it even more accessible from October 29, when easyJet begin offering two direct flights a week to Aqaba from London Gatwick.

It may be time to include Jordan in your list of possible overseas property destinations.
