The Costa Blanca has long been a favourite of British overseas property investors, with a huge choice of affordable properties available, and a wide choice of airlines offering cheap flights from numerous UK airports.
But where are the best places to buy that Spanish investment property in the Costa Blanca?
Here we look at a few options along the Southern stretch of this popular Spanish coast.
Orihuela Costa
Rather than just one resort, the Orihuela Costa is a string of resorts starting with Torrevieja and running south through popular areas such as Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Villamartín, Los Dolses and Campoamor.
Bar far the most developed and busiest area of the Costa Blanca, this is where you will find the best value for beachside properties.
Hugely popular with British expats, this area has all the amenities you will need to holiday or indeed rent out your holiday/investment property.
A two-bedroom apartment can be found near the beach for around €80,000 but even cheaper bargains can be found slightly further inland.
Even a townhouse near the beach can be purchased for little over €100,000.
The most southerly resort of Pilar de la Horadada offers a more traditional and quieter option with beach apartments still available from just €90,000.
Quesada
Just a couple of miles inland from the coastal resorts is the rapidly expanding new town of Quesada.
Predominately populated by British and other expats, there is a wide range of property types, ranging from €50-70,000 for a one or two-bedroom apartment, to over €1million for a luxury villa.
Other nearby options include the more traditional neighbouring villages of Benijófar and Rojales.
Pinoso
For real Spanish charm and a rural feel, the traditional town of Pinoso, also known as El Pinós, is difficult to beat.
Further inland, around 45 minutes from Alicante, the town is becoming more and more popular with British expats.
Here we find the most affordable properties, with a good choice of apartments from just €50,000 and even detached villas with pools available at the edge of town from just €120,000!
The town of Aspe, slightly nearer the coast but with similar property prices could be another option.
It seems that the southern areas of the Costa Blanca are filled with affordable options for British overseas property investors.
Next week, we look at the northern resorts in the Costa Blanca. Even more choice!
